Doberman Media continues to grow and push boundaries. Today we are pleased to announce an important step for our project and the entire community — the official launch of the Belarusian-language version of the site.

This event is of historic significance for us: as of today, there has been no specialized media resource for the LGBT community in the Belarusian language. We were the first to decide to fill this critical void.
Why are we doing this?
We want the Belarusian LGBT community to have more opportunities to read about themselves, their lives, culture, relationships, rights, and current issues in the native language.
Language is not just a tool of communication; it is a space of safety, identity, and support. If such a space in the Belarusian language did not exist until now, then it is time to create it ourselves.
More than a translation
The Belarusian version Doberman Media is not a mirror copy of the site and not a set of automatically translated texts. The Belarusian version has its own structure and a separate homepage.
- Unique focus: Some materials from the Russian-language version may not appear on the Belarusian homepage if they are not relevant to the local context.
- Exclusive content: And vice versa — some topics and articles will appear exclusively in the Belarusian-language version.
Our goal was to ensure that a Belarusian-speaking reader receives not just a duplicate of someone else’s content, but a full-fledged, independent media space, shaped with its language, realities, and interests in mind.
Doberman Media today
Our project is being developed in several language directions at once in order to be closer to audiences in different countries. Today Doberman Media materials are available in Russian, English, Ukrainian, and Belarusian, and in partnership with the Berlin organizationQuarteera e.V. we are also actively developing the German version. We invite you to be among the first to explore the new version of the site, read us in Belarusian, share materials, and help build this inclusive space together with us.
