Previously, Doberman.media reported that the femboy candidate for municipal deputies Daniil Neonov was detained in Moscow. So, on July 28, Daniil Neonov, a candidate for the Council of Deputies of the Shchukino district, was detained in Moscow. At about 12:50, he was taken to the Mitino police station.
A Moscow court has placed under arrest Daniil Neonov, a politician who calls himself a "femboy" and planned to run for municipal deputy. The reason was a video in Telegram, where he was wearing a T-shirt with the inscription LOVE. In the police, Neonov, according to him, was strangled and beaten. We will tell you how even the "wrong" number of colors in the rainbow is now banned in Russia.
The Tushinsky District Court of Moscow sentenced Daniil Neonov, who was going to run for municipal deputy, to 10 days of administrative arrest. He was found guilty of "demonstration of extremist symbols." The rainbow print on clothes was considered symbolic.
The reason for the case was a video published on Neonov's telegram channel on July 16. In the video, the politician appeared in an image that the Russian security forces considered "dangerous":
- Black T-shirt with inscription LOVE, painted in seven colors of the rainbow.
- Headband with cat ears.
- Mask.
According to Neonov's relatives, during the arrest, the police allegedly said that a certain deputy of the State Duma was dissatisfied with his agitation and appearance. The name of the deputy is not called, there is no official confirmation of this information yet.
In court, Neonov pleaded not guilty. His main argument was the absurdity of the accusation from the point of view of the materiel itself: his T-shirt depicted Seven-Color Rainbow (as a natural phenomenon), while the traditional LGBT flag (Pride flag) consists of six lanes.
However, the court ignored this argument, deciding that the T-shirt still refers to the activities of the "international LGBT public movement", which is recognized as extremist in Russia and banned, although it does not legally exist.
According to SOTAvision, the politician was held in isolation for more than seven hours, not allowing a lawyer to see him. Neonov himself said that violence was used against him at the police station: He was strangled and beaten. Later, the officers forbade him to communicate with journalists.
Because of this court decision, Daniil Neonov will no longer be able to participate in the elections and apply for public office. In Russia, the law prohibits persons prosecuted for "extremism" from being elected to government bodies.
- Neonov participated in the elections as a self-nominated candidate. In his program, he advocates freedom of speech and the Internet, political competition, equal rights, privacy and openness of municipal authorities.
- The candidate became known thanks to an unusual campaign campaign. He went out to collect signatures in stockings, a cat mask and ears. Neonov himself openly calls himself a femboy and uses this image as part of a public campaign.
This is not the first time that Russians have been persecuted for rainbow symbolism. After the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation recognized the "LGBT movement" as extremist at the end of 2023, the security forces received carte blanche to prosecute people for any accessories, posts on social networks or elements of clothing that can be "interpreted" as support for the community.
