Scientists have officially opened the world's first anal sex laboratory. Yes, with a special device for imitating movements and artificial feces. Their goal is to save you forever from the need to use an enema and waste time in the bathroom before a date.
What is the problem with regular douching?
Most people who practice anal sex do enemas all the time, but almost no one knows how to do it correctly. Due to the lack of normal training, many people make dangerous mistakes.
That's why traditional methods are a thing of the past century:
- Risk of injury. The hard tips of conventional syringes can easily damage tissues or even cause perforation of the rectum.
- The "dirty water" effect. If you use too much water, it goes deeper into the intestines. As a result, during sex, the water washes out new impurities, and the situation only gets worse.
- Spontaneity killer. Who wants to go to the bathroom for 30 minutes at the most crucial moment?
Meet A-BALL
British startup Polar Labs has developed a solution called A-BALL. It is a small elastic ball made of seaweed and hydrated collagen. You just inject it with a portion of lubricant right during foreplay.

How does it work? Your rectum is essentially a pressurized squeezable tube. When the ball gets inside, it acts like a piston. It pushes everything unnecessary higher, behind the so-called sigmoid colon - the place where the body usually stores waste. During the act itself, the ball stays inside and works as a reliable barrier.
Real science and a "sex machine"
This is not just a marketing ploy, but serious biomedical research. In the laboratory, there is a special device called a "fuck machine" that imitates the movements of the partner.
Scientists are testing the device in a tank of water heated to exactly 37°C to completely replicate the conditions inside the human body. They use fecal patterns of different consistencies on the Bristol scale - from hard to as soft as possible. All to make sure that the barrier can withstand any pressure and any size.
And then what?
Do you want to know where this ball goes? You don't need to take it out. After about 30-60 minutes, under the influence of heat, it softens and loses its structure.
The creators specially selected the material so that its properties became similar to ordinary body waste. As a result, it just comes out naturally the next time you go to the bathroom. It cannot get stuck because the body perceives it as something habitual.
Why it matters to everyone
The creators of the project, biomedical engineer Anna and researcher Henry, want to defeat systemic shame. They are sure that anal sex is a part of the life of a huge number of people, and it's time to make its hygiene as accessible and understandable as brushing your teeth.
But that's not all. Such a product can help many couples start experimenting without fear of "doing something wrong." Preparation turns from an awkward procedure into a part of the game. Imagine that soon such balls will be lying on the shelves of ordinary supermarkets next to condoms. It seems that this future has already arrived.
