Apple has changed the numbering system for its operating systems: the name now includes the year of active use rather than the version number. That’s why iOS 18 has been replaced by iOS 26. Apple’s other operating systems (iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS, and visionOS) follow the same numbering scheme.
