Silicone patches are the brainchild of beauty industry veteran Gigi Howard, who discovered the benefits of medical-grade silicone while searching for a solution to wrinkles on her chest when she was in her late twenties. In 2016, she founded SiO Beauty and began mass-producing these “overnight wrinkle patches.” By the way, the brand has a separate line for men called “SiO for Him.” Since then, a huge number of similar nighttime silicone “wrinkle patches” have appeared on the market.
What are reusable silicone patches used for, and how do they work?
These facial patches are designed to correct and prevent expression lines on the face. They are applied at night while you sleep. These silicone patches help relax the facial muscles and prevent wrinkles from forming.

As a rule, these patches are made of 100% medical-grade silicone used for scar treatment. The pads must not contain any adhesives or additives that cause allergies.
The electrostatic energy generated by the pad when worn improves collagen structure and increases blood flow, which leads to improved skin tone. Silicone helps moisturize the skin by drawing moisture from the skin to the surface. This skin-moisturizing property has been proven to be an important factor in scar treatment. Long-term use helps restore a more youthful and firm appearance to the facial skin, smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles.
Medical-grade silicone patches really do moisturize your skin while you sleep. To wake up looking as good as, say, Jude Law, all you need to do is apply the patches before bed (or for a few hours during the day while you’re playing video games), and you’re all set. It’s important to remember that these patches are reusable, but try not to use a single set more than 20–30 times (according to the instructions, no more than 15 times).
How to Use Silicone Patches? Instructions for Use
Make sure your face is completely dry and free of moisturizers, sunscreen, etc. Excessive sweating at night can prevent the patch from sticking properly.
- Apply the patch to the desired area of your face. You can use the patches at night while you sleep, or at any time of day. Leave them on for an hour or longer.
- Remove the lens slowly in the morning, moving it away from you. Place it in the storage case face down, and keep the case inside the tightly sealed packaging.
- You can wash the pads occasionally to remove dead skin cells that may affect the adhesive properties of the pads.
- The pads can be washed with regular soap that does not contain moisturizing creams or oils, or with baby shampoo. Let the pad air dry in the tray, face up, in a clean place. Do not wipe with a towel! Once dry, place the pad face down in the storage tray and put it back in the package.
Do not use on excessively sensitive, irritated, scratched, cut, or burned skin. Do not use if you are sensitive to silicone. Discontinue use if a rash or irritation occurs.
