For the first time ever, the owners of the adult platform JustForFans organized an exclusive collaboration retreat for 18+ content creators. Fire Island—a legendary barrier island two hours from Manhattan and historically known as a hub for the LGBTQ+ community—served as the venue for this large-scale experiment.
The event attracted a record number of participants: top creators and models from all over the world, from Mexico to London, descended on the island. The project’s format is reminiscent of popular influencer “houses” such as TikTok House, but instead of taking part in dance challenges, the residents produce professional adult content.
According to the organizers and participants, choosing this location toward the end of the summer season proved to be a strategically sound decision. While the island is packed with tourists at the height of July and parties rage until dawn, the drop in tourist activity toward the end of the season allowed the creators to focus entirely on their work.
At the same time, producing content on Fire Island presented serious challenges. Cars are completely banned on the island, while the limited housing stock makes transportation and accommodation incredibly expensive. Filming pornographic content itself requires grueling physical preparation: the creators note that working under the blazing sun on scorching sand or shooting scenes by swimming pools involves tremendous physical strain, strict diets, and the risk of injury from wet surfaces. Producing a final 15–25-minute video can require up to an hour of filming and months of advance preparation.
Initiatives like this rarely enter the public eye because of strict censorship on major video platforms such as YouTube, which regularly block content dealing with these topics. As a result, the industry is forced to grow through private communities, paid subscriptions, and specialized platforms.
