Governesses of Putin's and Kabaeva's children were forbidden to talk to them about LGBT people – The Insider

Hundreds of thousands of dollars a year were spent on foreign tutors and governesses for the children of Vladimir Putin and Alina Kabaeva, and the educators themselves were hired from Germany, Great Britain, New Zealand, Austria, Ireland, Bosnia and Herzegovina and South Africa, among others. At the same time, in the contracts, governesses were forbidden to touch on topics related to LGBT. This is stated in Investigation the Sistema project, which gained access to documents and correspondence on the hiring of foreign personnel for the Putin and Kabaeva families.

In the contracts of governesses, according to Sistema, it was spelled out that they should "under no circumstances" touch on topics related to LGBT. When discussing the contract with one of the German teachers in 2020, employers also offered to indicate that the ward is a boy, so in role-playing games he can only be given male names and male roles. Sistema notes that it did not find a contract in which this proposal would be approved.

According to the investigation, over the past 8 years, at least 20 foreign governors and governesses have worked in the family of Putin and Kabaeva. Usually, 4-6 people worked with the child at the same time: some of them replaced each other, some worked in parallel.

Sistema writes that most of the governors came from Germany: the children learned German, and the "Germans" themselves, as their employers called them, kept in a separate group. The project also found data on at least two British citizens and two New Zealand citizens. In addition, the children of the Russian leader were taught by citizens of Austria, Ireland, Bosnia and Herzegovina and South Africa. Germany and the United Kingdom are members of NATO, while Austria, Ireland and New Zealand have condemned Russia's invasion of Ukraine and supported sanctions against Moscow.

According to Sistema, Kabaeva's cousins Olesya Fedina and Ekaterina Golovacheva were engaged in hiring and organizing the work of the staff. Fedina acted as a representative of the family and conveyed wishes for raising children, and Golovacheva oversaw financial and organizational issues. In documents and correspondence, the parents of the children were not called by name: they were referred to as "family" or "parents".

Governesses signed two contracts. One described the real conditions of working with the child and the salary, and the second was concluded with a Russian legal entity - the Institute of Professional Retraining of the Sogaz International Medical Center or the Sogaz IMC itself. Formally, foreigners were registered as "leading translators", which made it possible to obtain work permits in Russia as highly qualified specialists.

The salaries of foreign educators, according to Sistema, could reach about $ 8 thousand per month. In 2020, the correspondence discussed the maintenance of a staff of 5-6 employees with a salary of 450-510 thousand rubles each, at least about $30 thousand per month and about $400 thousand per year. In January 2026, according to Sistema, at least three foreign nannies worked in the family of Putin and Kabaeva, in total they were paid 3.5 million rubles, excluding possible additional payments in foreign currency.

Earlier, the Dossier Center wrotethat Putin and Kabaeva have two sons - Ivan and Vladimir, born in 2015 and 2019. According to Dossier, they live in residences under the protection of the FSO, do not go to regular schools and kindergartens, almost do not communicate with their peers, travel on yachts and business jets, and nannies, governors and coaches are constantly next to them.
