In an interview with Irina Skibenko, fashion historian Alexander Vasilyev analyzed the strategies for success and visual images of contemporary internet celebrities. According to the expert, the popularity of figures such as Igor Sinyak and Sergey Grigoriev-Apollonov stems not only from their provocative behavior but also from the fact that they fill vacant niches in contemporary culture and fashion.
Igor Sinyak: “A Striking Example” and the Search for Sexuality
Vasilyev called Sinyak “the most striking example” of the consequences of eating fast food. Citing a mutual acquaintance—Sergei Grigoriev-Apollonov—the fashion historian noted Igor’s habit of ordering pizza at night. "You know what? Stop eating pizza—or you'll end up looking just like this."", Vasiliev remarked ironically, pointing out the changes in the blogger's figure.
The expert said that Sinyak has a “pretty face,” especially when she wears heavy makeup and hair extensions. However, he sharply criticized her choice of clothing length: according to Vasilyev, Sinyak needlessly exposes her legs above the knee, since that is the “least flattering part of the leg.”
The fashion historian believes that the blogger is on a constant “sexual quest,” and that his main goal is to “attract male attention.”
Igor Sinyak commented on Alexander Vasilyev's opinion:

Sergey Grigoriev-Appolonov: A "gold mine" of femininity
Unlike Sinyak, Vasiliev treats Sergei Grigoriev-Appolonov with obvious sympathy, calling him his friend and emphasizing that he has found a "gold mine" in his image.
According to Vasiliev, Sergei has become an idol for thousands of women, especially those who are in emigration. The fashion historian explains this by the fact that subscribers perceive his behavior as a "method of survival" and a direct "instruction for action."
Vasiliev believes that women look at Sergei and think: "If he can walk along the Champs-Elysees in heels with a microphone and become a star, then I will definitely find a millionaire with my femininity."
Alexander Vasiliev associates the success of such "feminine" male images with the fact that modern women have massively switched to trousers and sneakers.
"Not evil people" and the power of hype
Despite criticism of visual solutions, Vasiliev praised Sergey and his partner Andrey for their personal qualities and professionalism in working with the audience. He called them "very nice, pleasant and not mean people."
The fashion historian also expressed admiration for their ability to create "hype and hype" around them, stressing that in the modern world this is a necessary skill for survival, because "modesty is a sure way to the unknown."
