When you are over forty, you suddenly notice that you are often surrounded by some adult uncles and aunts. With drooping figures, widow's humps, wrinkles and almost old hands.
And then suddenly comes the realization that these are your peers.
If you think about it a little more, it becomes obvious that you look more or less the same.
The thought is unpleasant, if not frightening.
Therefore, often men who have not really cared about their appearance all their lives begin to look for a quick and effective way to look better.
For example, hair is transplanted (meaning on the head). After all, almost every third person goes bald by this age. And they go to Turkey, and go under the surgeon's knife.
The operation is fun. I heard that the head is inflated with saline, which makes it swell. And then two people transplant each hair individually in four hands, for ten hours in a row. A thousand incisions on the top of the head - a thousand new hairs.
Someone does a different kind of plastic surgery. For example, it removes bags under the eyes or corrects the neck and chin.
It's great when surgeons work conscientiously and the fact that there was an operation is not very noticeable. But nine times out of ten, the people who encounter you every day will understand.
Especially if six months ago you had a shiny bald spot in your photos, and now a new coat is shaggy, clean and silky.
You can rejuvenate without resorting to aesthetic medicine.
For example, to dress youthfully. Well, you know, follow fashion, trends. Do not be lazy to buy either tight jeans, or holey ones. Or put on oversizes there. Or tuck sweatpants into socks. Depending on what they are wearing now, those who can be called "young man" without sarcasm.
You can also lead the most youthful lifestyle. Well, you know, hanging out there, going to clubs and doing other cute stupid things.
Like meeting young girls, some students.
I do not dissuade anyone in any way, especially since everyone is already adults. In addition, female students have big and beautiful advantages.
But there are also disadvantages.
Young maidens do not know who AC/DC is, have not seen not only "Love and Pigeons", but even "The Silence of the Lambs" and certainly do not read books. In general, there is not much to talk about, and you will no longer be able to have sex all the time.
In addition, wherever you go together, it will look like dad has brought his grown-up daughter out into the world.
Yes, you are the same daddy. Humble yourself!
If there is not enough fervor for a young mistress (or your wife does not allow it), you can try to save yourself from old age through all sorts of adrenaline ventures.
Jump from bridges with elastic bands, go boxing, kiting, rock climbing, triathlon, etc. Anything that would demonstrate to others that you are still wow. That you have testosterone - any fledgling young man will be jealous.
However, all of the above is not particularly simple. Therefore, as a rule, an aging macho man buys himself a motorcycle, the most boyish mode of transport. After all, they were in the village at their grandmother's in the summer and they know that if a guy has "Java" or "Minsk", all the girls are his.
This knowledge absorbed with fresh milk, apparently, is manifested in the purchase of a chopper or even a sporter by a forty-year-old boy.
With my acquaintances who acquired a motorcycle in their old age, I mentally say goodbye forever every time.
"This guy was one of those..."
Why am I doing all this?
In our culture, old age is not popular and not aesthetic. On billboards, in commercials, in movies and TV shows, basically everyone is young, fit, with smooth skin, square chins and cubes on the stomach.
And what looks at you in the mirror is extremely different from these ideals.
But the thing is that aging is normal.
More precisely, aging is disgusting, but this is the only way to live long (stole from Ranevskaya).
In general, it seems to me that you need to come to terms with your age. We will never be young again, even if you go to the gym three times a day and let the surgeons change all of yourself.
Inside you will still be the age that you already have. And in your head you are no longer a boy, but a mature, accomplished man.
And you need to age beautifully and with dignity.
If you have reached forty, then you have understood something in this life and can do something. This, it seems to me, is what we should bet on.
On your own mind. After all, you have read, seen and comprehended more than any muscular youth.
On your income. Yes, you should have some money by the time you're forty. Dress discreetly, but in stylish clothes made of good fabrics. Travel, eat right, be generous.
Be in shape. Don't try to squeeze a hundred out of your chest or keep up with twenty-year-old footballers. But keep your muscles toned, stretch your joints, do some yoga. Look, the lower back will stop aching.
And most importantly, live the way you want to, without looking back at what others think of you.
