Miloslav Chemodanov, journalist and author of the book "A Normal Boy", former editor-in-chief of The Village and “KinoPoisk,” has been added to Russia’s register of foreign agents by the Ministry of Justice. This was reported on website.
“M. V. Chemodanov participated in creating and distributing messages and materials from foreign agents to an unlimited audience, as well as from organizations included on the list of foreign and international organizations whose activities have been declared undesirable in the Russian Federation,” – the statement says.
The list also includes politician Alexander Litreev, political scientist Vsevolod Bederson, and the “First Flight” project.
Miloslav Chemodanov, who has lived in New York for the past four years, commented on the news that he had been designated a foreign agent in a post on his Instagram:
“It’s interesting to watch the news about my (and others’) designation as a foreign agent. For some reason, absolutely everyone has written about it—from TASS and Vesti to the BBC and Ekaterina Shulman. In fact, I’ve been hosting a podcast called “Gay Propaganda” since 2020, so I always understood that sooner or later they would ‘come for me’ too. As pretty much all the podcast’s guests—openly gay men—said in response to my regular question about whether they were afraid: of course they were, but there is always a choice between being afraid and doing nothing, or being afraid and doing something. And I’ve received so many messages of gratitude from my fellow LGBT people who, to put it bluntly, are hardly spoiled for Russian-language information and acceptance in light of Russian laws that it’s perfectly clear to me that any shitty foreign-agent designation was worth it
Yes, after worrying about how my mother will react to this (fortunately, so far she is still only sending me AI-generated greeting cards with angels and cats), what I feel most about all of this is disgust: as a queer person, I’ve known since childhood what it’s like to feel that you’re ‘wrong,’ ‘unwanted,’ the ‘black sheep’—and now, at 47, I’m still being subjected to this kind of bullying by my homeland. A ‘foreign agent,’ for fuck’s sake.”.
And I’m especially delighted by this photo of foreign agent Chemodanov that has been making the rounds in the news)
It’s a shame you can’t see that the T-shirt features the characters from Heated Rivalry)), Miloslav wrote.

Miloslav Chemodanov took part in the New York City Pride March this year. Oleg, creator of the You-Tube channel “Gay Chat” managed to get a short interview with him. Miloslav spoke about his experience of living in New York for four years. He also Chemodanov talked about his book "A Normal Boy" and how they even manage to ship it to Russia, even though it is printed in Serbia.
After living in New York for four years, Miloslav Chemodanov calls it a “city for singles,” where it is difficult to find love but easy to be yourself.
