The magistrate judge of court district No. 374 in Moscow’s Tagansky District has issued a ruling on a fine against Vladislav Gusev, the owner of Shikimori, the largest Russian-language anime encyclopedia. He was found guilty of an administrative offense related to the promotion of “non-traditional sexual relations.” This wassaid on Moscow's court system Telegram channel.
The court established that on April 28, 2026, information promoting non-traditional sexual relations, gender transition, or refusal to have children was posted on the Shikimori website. The violation was confirmed by an expert examination. As a result, Gusev was fined an administrative penalty of 200 thousand rubles.

- Shikimori — is a project launched in 2011 that became the largest Russian-language online encyclopedia of anime and Japanese pop culture. In 2026, access to the resource within the Russian Federation was blocked.
- Russian authorities consider such cases under legislation banning “LGBT propaganda” (the “International LGBT Public Movement” itself was previously recognized in Russia as extremist and banned).
- This is not the first case of major platforms being prosecuted under similar articles: previously, for similar violations, a fine of 3.5 million rubles was imposed on TikTok.
