First Lady of the United States Melania Trump is against her husband, American President Donald Trump, publicly dancing to the song of the group Y.M.C.A. (Young Men's Christian Association) of the Village People. He made the remarks while speaking at an event for retirees in The Villages, Florida, White House speech Broadcast on YouTube.
"Darling, please don't dance. This is not presidential," he quoted his wife as saying.
Trump is aware that the composition is considered the anthem of LGBT people. Disco hit Out in 1978, topping the charts in many countries.
Encyclopedia Britannica notesthat the song is considered a gay anthem because its lyrics responded to the experience of the LGBT community at the time, as well as because of the band's own image associated with gay culture.
"She also hates it when I dance. And when I dance to what is sometimes called the "gay anthem." You know, this song was at number five 32 years ago and came out number one after 32 years. Nothing like this has ever happened - I did not get to the first place. We love this song," he added.
