On April 23, OpenAI unveiled a new generative AI model, GPT-5.5.
“A new level of intelligence for real-world work and agent management, designed to understand complex tasks, use tools, verify the results of its work, and complete more tasks. This marks a new approach to performing computer tasks. Now available in ChatGPT and Codex,” the company announced on social media platform X.
In a statement from OpenAI said...that the new model "does an excellent job" of writing and debugging code, conducting online research, analyzing data, creating documents and spreadsheets, and managing software.
The company noted that GPT-5.5 is already available to paid users of ChatGPT and Codex.
OpenAI Released the previous model, GPT-5.4, less than two months ago, on March 5. At that time, the company also noted that the model is effective for professional use.
