Telegram is seeing a wave of mass channel bans related to adult content, including escort services and themed chat rooms. According to reports, Doberman.media several administrators of blocked channels, dozens of large channels and groups in Telegram have been affected in recent days. Most likely, the platform's neural network, which is responsible for moderation, blocks even innocent resources due to complaints and false positives. This caused panic among adult channel owners, many of whom fear a complete loss of audience.
According to information from anonymous administrators of popular social media platforms, the blocks began on November 15. "They destroyed a lot in just one night", — notes one of the sources connected to escort communities on Telegram.
Another owner of four blocked Telegram channels confirms: "I am blocked from all sides. Bots and admins can't cope - as soon as they miss something, complaints immediately pounce and telegram blocks the channel".
A feature of the current blocking was the regional restriction. For example, one of the escort channels became unavailable to users from the United States with the wording "distribution of pornography", while for the Russian-speaking audience the channel is available.
The owner of another escort service channel for gay/bi men (focusing on material support without explicit content) said that his channel was blocked for "two pictures of a spammer" despite the lack of.
Experts and community members attribute the surge in account suspensions to the introduction of AI-powered moderation on Telegram. "Durov has finally connected the neural network, but it takes a long time to set up. So far, completely innocent people are getting under the mix", the source suggests. Previously, the platform removed about 120 thousand channels for "terrorist activities", but analysts doubt the accuracy of the data: "If there are 120 thousand channels, then how many terrorists?
