The Doberman Media editorial team has compiled and verified key initiatives that provide support to LGBTQ+ people. This directory includes only verified and LGBTQ+-friendly organizations, initiatives, associations, and foundations. Below you will find both emergency evacuation contacts and assistance in the face of an immediate threat, as well as resources to safely plan your own relocation.
Before contacting any of the organizations below, please read this text:
This guide is intended primarily for LGBT people who need help with emigration or seeking asylum.
If you are in Russia, Belarus, or another country where LGBT initiatives may be designated “extremist” or “undesirable,” exercise extreme caution. Even simply contacting certain organizations or following links can sometimes pose risks. Use a VPN, clear your browser history, and, whenever possible, contact them using devices and accounts that are not linked to your real identity.
Emergency evacuation programs are currently extremely limited. In most cases, organizations do not help “get you out,” but rather help you plan your own departure: suggest routes, gather documents, and find temporary accommodation and local contacts.
Emergency assistance is usually provided to people who are already being persecuted (detentions, criminal charges, direct threats). Be prepared to document your situation with official reports, screenshots, and court rulings.
If there is no immediate threat right now, it is better to start by planning your relocation. This is more reliable and gives you more options.
Before submitting a request:
- save copies of all important documents to the cloud;
- prepare a brief description of the situation;
- check whether you have a backup, relatively secure means of communication.
Support Directory
Emergency assistance programs are limited due to a lack of funding. In most cases, you will be offered help planning your own emigration. Emergency evacuation is generally offered to those who are already facing persecution. Be prepared to support your case with documentation—for example, administrative detention records.
For urgent cases — persecution, detention, immediate danger right now.
