Grindr, the most popular mobile dating app among the LGBTQ+ community, has released its annual report, providing detailed information about its users. The report contains anonymous data on the most popular profile tags, as well as the countries with the highest number of active, passive, and versatile users.
Since its launch in 2009, Grindr has become the go-to app for gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer people. Its goal is to provide a quick and easy way to meet people, find partners, and connect—whether for long-term relationships or casual encounters. The app uses geolocation to help you find people nearby.
According to the report, Bolivia ranked first among countries with the highest percentage of active users. It is followed by the United States, South Korea, Greece, and India—which, although trailing Bolivia, still show a predominance of active users over passive ones.
Denmark, on the other hand, tops the list of countries with the highest percentage of passive users. If active users are looking for sexual partners, they should consider Japan, Serbia, South Africa, and Peru—these countries are known for their high number of passive users.
As for station wagons, the largest number of them are found in Russia, Finland, Croatia, Germany, and Taiwan.
Interestingly, the most popular time to use the app is 9 p.m.
Among the most frequently searched tags are “hung,” “trans,” “feet,” “bb,” and “dom.” Meanwhile, the tags that appear most frequently in profiles are “fwb,” “anon,” “kissing,” “bi,” and “discreet.”
